Presso's report

Welcome members and friends to avoca boardriders season 2009. After a very bad year for surf last year, we're hoping for a much better go this year and expect Huey to do his bit and provide swell and banks so that every one in the club can perform to their max.

The committee will be endeavoring to make the year enjoyable for you by listening and acting on your feedback. We will also have some special events in the newsletters when the time gets closer most notably the “Kings of the Coast” held at Avoca later in the year.

Any way have a great year embrace any changes and do your best.

See you on the beach,
Love Trophy

Newbies

This year were going to try some new ideas to keep you on your toes, firstly we are going to allow U14's, U16's and U18's that would like to have a shot at open division surf up a division. This will allow you to surf two divisions if you think your good enough…are you good enough?

We've also decided to adjust our divisions to:

  • Super–groms
  • U12's
  • U14's (can surf in Opens)
  • U16's (can surf in Opens)
  • Opens
  • 30—45's (senior mens + masters)
  • 45+ (grandmasters + legends)

There's a new division known as Super–groms for girls and boys. This division will consist of the younger crew (parental assist) and white–water division. We feel there is calling for this genre and hope you spread the word.

Also…

A new secret society will be SMSing you as a reminder of important dates…so give up your number.
