Comp number 2, March 2009

Posted on April 16, 2009 05:21 | March club contest

Fine warm weather provided a suitable back drop for some nice waves on contestable banks. The surfing was impressive and all in all another fun day under the pines on my favourite beach in the world. Sitting there, I got to thinking about this club and what it means to be a part of it. Its roots were set more than 30 years ago by a bunch of rag–tag locals, whose parents probably feared for their offspring and their links with a sport that at the time was more associated with useless, time–wasteful behaviour, rather than the sport we all know and love today.

Some of us are in the club to compete, some for the social aspect, some to network, whatever. We have all somehow remained united for all these years. And we've stayed committed to assisting our members, family and friends through thick and thin.

So, enough with the soppy sh*t, lets get down to business. Here are some things coming up:

So, for any and hopefully all of these events, get involved and don't be shy. If you're unsure about something, ask someone who looks like they know what's going on and they'll help you out.

Bells ASP competition

The Rip Curl Bells comp is on at the moment down there in Victoria. Ace surfed against Dean Morrison today and got knocked. It seems that he copped an interference, although in the video it looks like Dean dropped in on him. Dean must've had priority or something like that. Rules… Anyway, here's a video from the day before. They surfed Bells and then switched to Winki later on in the day.

Don't forget about the next comp on the 26th of April!
